Success Stories

1. FI Firm (Custody Systems/Business Architecture)

Client Objective

The client was one of the major international custody firms in the process of replacing their major operational systems ($100 million cost). Issues arose indicating the need for a business architecture to identify gaps and dependencies between the systems’ business strategies and capabilities and to establish a reusable Business Architecture Framework to provide a blueprint for strategic planning and tactical demands.

Prodigy Solution

Prodigy worked with the client team to prepare:
•Business functional maps for each of the major functions being studied.
•Business event models for critical events within the major processes.
•Strategic & tactical maps linking  business strategies, processes, organization and systems.
•Value chain analysis.
•Organizational analysis.
•Gap analysis between systems and key business processes.

Results

The project established business architecture as a key process for guiding systems development within the enterprise and provided insights into the inter-relationships between strategy, capability, business processes and required systems.  In addition, the client team was provided with hands-on training and learning

2. Bank (CRM/Solution Strategy)

Client Objective

The client was the international banking division of one of the major banks operating in 27 countries with over 30,000 employees. Due to advancing technology and changing processes there was a need to replace their in-house developed CRM system.  Three alternatives were being considered (in-house development, use of a SaaS cloud offering and external development.)  A preliminary analysis of strategy and costing was needed.

Prodigy Solution

Prodigy worked with the client team to prepare:
•Information Questionnaires and an Assessment Framework.
•SWOT and preliminary cost estimates for each alternative.
•Assessment of the alternatives.
•Recommended strategy, approach & architecture.
•Identify major risks together with appropriate risk mitigation strategy.
•Assistance in defining the estimated benefits.

Results

Prodigy worked with the key vendors and internal IT to develop the required information, approaches, costs and strategies.  We presented our results to the division’s executive.  A recommended strategy was developed which is being further refined as the basis of a major project within the bank.

3. International Beverage Firm (Mobile Application –
Customer Support)

Client Objective

Our client was a major school board using Trillium as its primary student information system.  However, not all required functionality is provided by the system.  The client uses a Powerbuilder based report generator application to both report on and update data held in Trillium.  There are some eight mini-applications that have been developed to operate in this manner.  Three of them were to be replaced with modern .Net applications through this engagement.

Prodigy Solution

Prodigy reviewed the existing documentation of the system and any desired enhancements, next the code of the existing applications was reviewed and a session was held with the system owners to finalize requirements and changes.  Prodigy then developed use cases and screen mock-ups for the revised applications. These were reviewed and approved. Next the applications were coded in .Net 4.0 using an MVC pattern and Telerik controls accessing the Trillium Oracle 11g database.

Results

Application development and testing was completed on time.  Revised applications and revised UI were well received by users.

4. Telcom Firm (Marketing campaigns)

Client Objective

The client wanted to use its existing corporate data as the basis of a series of outreach marketing campaigns. However, the data was in a raw form unsuitable for this purpose.  In addition, the marketing approach needed to be operationalized to work with the system and marketing tools available.

Prodigy Solution

Prodigy provided both team and individual resources to design and rollout Marketing Campaigns from a technology operation perspective using the client’s designated campaign management tools and infrastructure as well as carrying out the loading and transformation of the corporate data.

Results

This is an ongoing project that has continued for over three years adapting to changing requirements.  The client has been pleased by the results of the marketing campaigns.
